An international symposium on “Struggle against Desertification and Development of Landscaping” was held in the People’s Republic of China. Scientists, experts, and specialists from various countries of the world participated in this prestigious conference with their experience and scientific research.

 The rector of our institute, B.B.Jollibekov, also participated in this symposium. In his report, he provided detailed information on the soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan, in particular Karakalpakstan, the problems of landscaping saline and degraded lands, as well as the work being carried out on the dried bottom of the Aral Sea.

 The rector also exchanged views with international partners on scientific research and experiments conducted in this area in the world. During the event, specialists from China, Japan, and Korea shared their achievements in combating desertification and exchanged experiences with third countries.

 The international symposium also served as an important platform for expanding scientific cooperation, exchanging experience, and introducing new approaches to solving environmental problems for scientists of Uzbekistan.
