Yukiko Yoda, a first-year master’s student at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Japan, is currently conducting her research at the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnology, according to a contract signed with the Japanese university. The topic of her research work is “Endophyte use in cultivation of Ephedra equisetina to prevent salinization” (lat. Ephédra equisetina – Ephedra horsetail), which aims to isolate symbiotic mycelial fungi – endophytes, from plants grown in Karakalpakstan conditions. Doctoral students of our institute jointly carry out their scientific research, thus they share their experience with each other.
