 In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 275 dated May 4, 2021, «On Measures to Establish the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies» and the Order of the Nukus Branch of the Tashkent State Agrarian University № 01-12-12/119 dated July 2, 2021, «On Approving the Structure of the Karakalpak institute of agriculture and agrotechnologies» the Department of «Plant growing, forestry and landscape design» was established, and from March 1, 2025, it has been headed by the doctor of philosophy in agricultural sciences Baltaniyazov Jaksibay Sarsenbaevich.

 Until now, the department was headed by D.Madreymova, G.Sabirov, H.Matjanova, and E.Eshmuratov. A total of 22 teachers work at the department, including 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 7 candidates of sciences, and 12 assistants who provide quality education and upbringing. In order to increase the scientific potential of the department in the specialty 06.03.01 – «Forest Crops. Selection, seed production and landscaping of cities. Forest agromelioration and the creation of protective forests» by 7 doctoral students and 2 independent researchers are conducting research on relevant topics.

 Starting from 2023, the department’s teaching staff will undergo professional development at foreign higher education institutions included in the TOP-1000, according to the plan.
