History of “Faculty of Agrobiology and Forestry”
By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 269 from June, 14th, 2003 on the basis of Agrarian faculty of the Karakalpak State University was established Nukus branch of the Tashkent State Agrarian University, in which structure the faculty “Agronomy” began its activity. In 2003-2004, the dean of the faculty was a candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor Allamurat Hodzhasov. In accordance with the Resolution № 415 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On improving the system of training highly qualified specialists for agriculture and water management of the Republic” dated September 3, 2004 the new structure of the branch was approved, according to the structure the faculty “Agronomy and Mechanization of Agriculture” was established, and in 2004-2010 years the faculty dean was the candidate of technical sciences Sadulla Aminov and in 2010-2015 years the faculty dean was the candidate of biological sciences, associate professor Nietbay Allambergenovich Absattarov.
On the basis of the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 3, 2015 № 311 “On measures to further improve the provision of highly qualified personnel with higher education” approved the new structure of the branch, according to which the faculty “Agronomy and Mechanization of Agriculture” was reorganized into the departments “Agronomy” and “Mechanization of Agriculture”. In 2015-2018 the faculty was headed by Allamurat Khodzhasov.
In accordance with the Decree № PK-3704 in accordance with Annex 1b of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018 “On measures to improve the system of training highly educated personnel at Tashkent National Agrarian University” according to the new structure, the name of the faculty “Agronomy” was changed to the faculty “Agrobiology”. In 2018-2022, the dean of the faculty was the candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor Adilbay Reimbayevich Utepbergenov. In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on May 4, 2021 № 275 “On measures for establishing Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agro-technology” on the basis of the branch was founded institution, according to the order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 25, 2021 № 144 “On approval of the Charter and structure of higher educational institutions in the Ministry” approved the structure of the new institution, and according to this structure, the faculty “Agrobiology” converted to the faculty “Agrobiology and plant protection
