Today, Karakalpakstan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies has 1 academic lyceum, 1 technical school, graduate department, part-time department, 4 faculties and 16 departments.
3,528 students are studying at the institute, 2,370 of them are studying at the full-time department, 931 are studying at the part-time department, and 219 are studying at the master’s level.
Also, the educational and scientific center “Agrotechnologies of selection, seed production and cultivation of oilseeds” (in the form of a state institution) and the centers “Geoinformation systems” are operating within the institute.
In cooperation with “Agrobank” ADB and the Ministry of Agriculture, a 2-month (1 month of theoretical and 1 month of practical knowledge) training course “Farmers’ School” was organized in order to direct rural youth to entrepreneurship and increase their work level. knowledge 6 qualified professors of the institute were involved.
Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, the personnel training system for 6 bachelor’s courses and 6 master’s specialties was launched. The admission quota has increased by 39% or 334 compared to the previous academic year.
Also, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with Vietnam State Agricultural University on the establishment of a joint faculty for rice cultivation, and it is planned to visit the Republic of Vietnam on January 10-14, 2023, to sign the final document. agreement and its opening from the 2023-2024 academic year.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, training sessions are being conducted at the institute in 3 educational buildings. The total number of educational auditoriums is 104, including 6 lecture rooms, 22 laboratories and 76 practical-seminar rooms.
On educational and methodological works:
In order to ensure the quality of education at the institute, 164 professors and teachers are conducting training in the main state. 8 of them are doctors of science, 65 are candidates of science (PhD), associate professors, and the scientific potential is 44.5 percent. 35 professors and leading experts from other higher educational institutions, scientific research institutes and production enterprises of our republic were involved in part-time and full-time work.
Departmental branches of 14 specialized departments have been established under production enterprises. Practical training is conducted by highly qualified specialists of enterprises in these sectors.
In order to improve the quality of education, in the 2022/2023 academic year, 8 professors and teachers from foreign higher education institutions were involved in the educational process, and in the 2023/2024 academic year, 12 professors and teachers were involved. is planned to attract.
Information and communication technologies, including 358 computers, 44 video projectors, and 6 smart TVs, are used during the lesson. 74 classrooms in 3 educational buildings of the institute are equipped with surveillance cameras, which fully monitor and analyze lessons.
In 2022, 15 monographs, 14 textbooks, 27 educational and methodical manuals were created, and after their electronic versions were approved, they were placed in the Institute ARM.
The Information Resource Center of Karakalpakstan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Technology is equipped with 24 computers and 5 printers for users. The classroom has 120 seats.
The general fund of the Information Resource Center contains 54,583 copies of educational literature with 6,991 titles.

1505 textbooks with 19039 titles;

During 2020-2023, literature worth 50667032.65 soums was purchased for the information resource center of the institute, and 122 pieces of foreign literature with 118 titles were received as gifts.
5,048 titles of literature have been digitized in the electronic library, and 33,921 scientific articles and pamphlets from the Scopus database are available on the official website of ARM http://arm.tdaunukus.uz/wordpress/. An information resource center, a subscription department and 2 study halls, a 24-seat electronic library study hall connected to the Internet serve readers. At the same time, an ARM department was established in the 3rd building of the institute, where a 20-person classroom and 15-seat electronic library classrooms are connected to the Internet.
Internet tariff plan at the institute is MinVUZ300, the speed is 300 Mb/s, 1000 Mb/s for Tasiх. Computers are connected to the INTERNET network. INTERNET speed is 100 Mb/s. At the same time, there are more than 11 WiFi zones with a speed of 100 Mb/s in the territory of the ARM and institute buildings.
In accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 20, 2017 “On measures for the further development of the higher education system” No. PQ-2909, our institute was provided with laboratory equipment worth 205 thousand 434 euros.
The German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) brought 74.1 million soums worth of laboratory equipment and inventory to the department of “Fisheries and Sericulture” as part of the “Stable Economic Development in Some Regions of Uzbekistan” project, and 2 new “Fisheries Laboratories” were established.
USAID international organization “Development of the value chain in agriculture” AVC project to the department of “Fruit-vegetable and policing” laboratory equipment and inventories worth 214.5 million soums was brought to the institute and a new “Fruit-vegetable” laboratory was established.
5-year cooperation agreements were signed between more than 30 production enterprises in the republic and region and 14 specialized educational departments of the institute.
In the academic year 2022-2023, 5 master’s and 6 bachelor’s students are participating in a 6-month short-term internship program at leading farms in Germany.
In the national rating of higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2021, it took 11th place with a base higher education institution, and in 2022, participating as an independent institution, it took 43rd place.
About scientific research works conducted at the institute
In 2023, 4 dissertations (4 candidates of science) were defended by the teaching staff of the institute.
For 2 years, 7 professors and teachers of the institute received the title of associate professor.
This year, 3 students of our institute were awarded the “Leader of Innovative Ideas” badge by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 2023, 5 students (named after A. Beruniy, I. Karimov, I. Yusupov and T. Qaipbergenov) were awarded state scholarships at the institute.
In 2023, 23 people and 3 interns-researchers were admitted to basic doctoral studies.
In 2023, 7 professors with a Hirsch index of 5 or higher based on their scientific publications included in Scopus, Web of Science or generally recognized indexed databases were included among the professors working at our institute. At the same time, LinkedIn, Goggle Scholar, and ResearchGate are performing the tasks of registration for professors and uploading their scientific works to international scientific platforms.
As a result of scientific research and scientific-methodical work carried out during the current year, professors and teachers of the institute received patents for 2 inventions, patent certificates for more than 10 electronic programs, documents on the practical application of 8 developments, and Scopus international information. published in 24 journals indexed in the database, more than 192 foreign scientific journals, more than 250 journals belonging to OAK and more than 400 local conference materials, more than 200 international foreign conferences. The number of citations to these published articles is 1078 by institute.
Today, the institute has 2 international projects with a total cost of 1.1 billion soums, 2 practical projects prepared by professors and teachers, and 1 innovative project by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a total cost of 4.2 billion soums. 5 startup projects of 132.4 million soums financed by students are being implemented.
Among the projects planned to be implemented with foreign partners, joint research is being carried out with the Japanese organization OISCA on “Sustainable technology of planting Cistanche deserticola in saxophone trees”, the total cost of the project is 1 million US dollars.
Also, 2 employees of the institute Abdiqairov B.E. – at the University of Porto in Portugal and Buranboev T.M. – Participated in training and short-term internships at OISCA in Japan.
In the competition announced by the Ministry of Innovative Development, 5 students of Karakalpakstan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnology went to Urmia University of the Islamic Republic of Iran for a short-term internship in order to study the consequences of the construction of Lake Urmia. . Based on the current situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the internship period is scheduled for July 2023.
On work with young people and spiritual and educational work:
Out of 2,370 full-time students of the institute, 1,351 study at home, 292 study at a close relative’s house, 567 study on a rental basis, and 160 study at a private school.
The institute has 4 faculties, 1 person in each faculty, a total of 4 deputy deans for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs, 3 persons in each faculty, a total of 12 mentors are working. On average, each tutor has 140-180 students.
The institute has 2 student residences with 80 beds each, a total of 160 beds. 80 of the students living in TTJ are girls. Today, the number of students who applied for residence at TTJ is 800 people. A project estimate of a 400-bed student residence has been developed. An offer was submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for financing the new construction and including it in the state program.
567 students of the institute (including 199 girls) live in rented apartments. For 30 students living in rented accommodation, 50% of the monthly rent is paid by the institute.
The number of low-income students in the institute is 99, 46 students with disabilities, 9 orphans, 213 half-orphans.
Students in need of social protection are financially and morally encouraged by the institute. In particular, in the academic year 2022/2023, 85 students in need of social protection were paid 1-year contract money.
The institute has a total of 43 clubs, of which 26 science, 7 sports and 10 creative clubs have been established, the number of members is 968.
Activities were held on five important initiatives. Tours to museums, shrines and the city of Khiva were organized.
“Tumar” student theater studio, “Kuvnoq va zukkolor” club, “Bakhsiylar” group, “National musical instruments”, “National and pop vocal singing” clubs operate in the institute.
In the contest “Interesting and smart” held among higher education institutions of the republic, the “Agrolife” team of the institute took the proud 2nd place.
In financial and economic matters:
The institute has 3 educational buildings with a total of 1950 seats, 2 student residences with a total of 160 seats, and 2 canteens with 80 seats each.
All educational buildings are currently being renovated. Area 24002 of the rear of educational buildings 1 and 2 has been repainted.
In order to provide more comfort and safety to students, 8 gas stoves were replaced with electric stoves.
A new garden was built at the institute on an area of 3 hectares. Drip irrigation was started on an area of 0.6 hectares.
In order to ensure the implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 9, 2022 No. PF-220 “On additional measures to introduce energy-saving technologies and develop small-capacity renewable energy sources”, 20 street lights, 200 liter water heater and 5 kW wall panels were purchased.
In order to develop information and communication networks, to create convenience for teachers and students, additional Internet and telephone networks were installed in the 3rd educational building and the 1st and 2nd student residences. 44 additional surveillance cameras were installed in educational buildings.
