AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD AT THE INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE AND AGROTECHNOLOGIES OF KARAKALPAKSTAN
Today, the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies held a scientific-practical conference on the topic “Development of climate-resilient innovative technologies for monitoring and controlling the effectiveness of water use and the impact of salinity on crop yields and public life in the Aral Sea region.” The conference was attended by scientists, specialists, and master’s students from a number of higher educational institutions and research centers of our republic.
First, the rector of the Karakalpakstan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies M.M. Dauletmuratov opened with an introductory speech and wished the conference success. In his opening remarks, the Rector of the Institute M.M. Dauletmuratov warmly welcomed the conference participants and noted that the effective use of water resources in the Aral Sea region, the prevention of soil salinization, and increasing crop yields are among the most pressing issues today.
Today, climate change, water resource scarcity, and soil salinization pose important tasks for the sustainable development of agriculture in the Aral Sea region. Studying these problems on a scientific basis, developing modern and climate-resilient innovative technologies, and implementing them in practice is of great importance. In this sense, today’s scientific-practical conference is an important platform for scientists, specialists, and young researchers to exchange experience, advance new scientific ideas, and develop effective solutions. “I am confident that the proposals voiced during the conference will also make a worthy contribution to ensuring the environmental sustainability of the Aral Sea region, the rational use of water and land resources, and increasing agricultural efficiency,” said Rector M.M. Dauletmuratov.
After that, the conference continued its work with scientific reports and discussions. Particular attention was paid to the rational and efficient use of water resources in the Aral Sea region, preventing soil salinization, increasing crop yields, and mitigating the impact of climate change on agriculture and the population’s lifestyle.
