INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL CONFERENCE ON INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN THE CONDITIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND WATER SHORTAGE IN THE ARAL SEA REGION

On March 12, 2026, the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies held an international scientific and scientific-technical conference on the topic “Innovative techniques and technologies for the development of agriculture in the Aral Sea region under conditions of climate change and water scarcity.”

Leading scientists, professors, researchers, doctoral students, and specialists working in the field of agriculture from the republic and foreign countries participated in this conference. The main goal of the event was to discuss modern scientific approaches, innovative techniques, and advanced agricultural technologies aimed at the sustainable development of agricultural production in the context of global climate change, the depletion of water resources, and environmental problems observed in the Aral Sea region.

During the conference, topical issues of water management and land reclamation in the context of global climate change and water scarcity, modernization of irrigation systems, improvement of land reclamation, combating salinization, and rational use of water resources were widely discussed. Scientific reports were also presented on the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies in agriculture, including drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, laser leveling technologies, and digital agricultural technologies.

At the event, important scientific recommendations were developed on the cultivation of agricultural crops adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of the Aral Sea region, the application of resource-saving agricultural technologies, the effective use of water and land resources, and ensuring agroecological sustainability.

At the conclusion of the conference, proposals and recommendations were made for the integration of scientific research with practice, the widespread introduction of innovative technologies into production, as well as the implementation of promising projects aimed at the sustainable development of agriculture in the Aral Sea region.
