History of the department of “Agricultural mechanization”
The Department of Agricultural Mechanization was established in 1977 as part of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics at Nukus State University. In 2003, it merged with the departments of General Engineering Sciences and Road Safety, Tractors and Agricultural Machinery, and Machine Reliability, Operation, and Maintenance. Prior to this, the department was headed by Professors S.N. Shamshetov and O.P. Avezov, and Associate Professors A. Khodjamuratov, T. Bazarbayev, B.A. Lots, E.K. Sultanov, S.U. Allaniyazov, B.K. Utepbergenov, and R.O. Sadykov.
Since 2025, the department has been headed by Sapar Yeshmuratovich Tursimuratov, PhD in Technical Sciences, Department of Agricultural Mechanization.
The department consists of 2 professors; 4 PhDs in History, Associate Professors; 4 Candidates of Engineering Sciences; 1 senior lecturer; and 3 assistants conducting research and teaching.
Full-time students are offered a bachelor’s degree in 60810100 – Agricultural Mechanization, 60711400 – Automation and Control of Technological Processes and Production. Part-time students are offered a bachelor’s degree in 60810100 – Agricultural Mechanization, 70810101 – Agricultural Mechanization (by industry), and a master’s degree in 05.07.01 – Agricultural and Land Reclamation Machinery. Students are trained at the basic doctoral level in the mechanization of agricultural and land reclamation work.
Scientific works of the department
Scientists from the department and the Uzbek Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, led by Professors A. Tuktokuziev, R.I. Baimetov, A. Karakhanov, A. Ibragimov, and other scientists, collaborate on training research specialists.
