The seminar-training is scheduled for June 13-14, and today the seminar participants presented their reports to the audience and media representatives about the opening ceremony of the seminar and scientific research aimed at mitigating climate change and restoring the ecological stability of the Aral Sea region.
The seminar was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan R.Saparbayev. Then the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov, Senior Economist for Agriculture of the World Bank Dr. Pierre Gerber, Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture Prof. Shadman Na’mazov, Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University, Prof. Narzulla Oblomuradov, Marc Van Uytvanck, EU-ASK Facility, Ministry of Agriculture, Rector of the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies Berdiyor Zhollibekov spoke about the importance of the seminar and the measures that need to be implemented today.
During the seminar, it was emphasized that today’s climate change has a great impact not only on agriculture, but also on the market economy, the health of people living in that area, and the ecology of the region through soil and climate change.
After the opening ceremony of the seminar, representatives of research institutes and international organizations on climate change mitigation and restoration of environmental sustainability in the Aral Sea region presented their reports to the participants on the ongoing scientific work based on current research.
