A meeting was held with the participation of professors and teachers from foreign universities

On April 28, 2026, the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies was visited by Yashiko KAWABATA from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology from Japan, Takahisa NAKANE and Isoda Susumu from Chowa Pharmaceutical University, Akihito Takano and Hori Kiyotaka from the Makino Botanical Garden of Kochi Prefecture, and an important meeting was held with the participation of professors and teachers. As part of this visit, a special master class was organized in cooperation with the Department of Agricultural Product Storage, Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants. During the master class, Japanese specialists shared their experience in cultivating medicinal plants, specifically ephedra, studying them on a scientific basis, processing them using modern technologies, and applying them in the field.

This visit will last two weeks, during which joint work will be carried out to visit research sites, conduct laboratory experiments, and conduct lectures and practical classes for students and researchers.

During the event, students and young researchers received detailed answers to their questions and had the opportunity to further enrich their practical and theoretical knowledge. Also during the meeting, issues of developing bilateral cooperation were discussed, in particular, student exchange programs, conducting joint scientific research and organizing joint projects in the future.

This meeting was one of the important steps for our institute to strengthen international ties, improve students’ knowledge and skills, and develop scientific potential.
